As traditional agricultural processing industry, sugar industry is closely related to sugar plantation and mainly gathered in China provinces of Guangxi, Yunnan, Guangdong, Hainan, Xinjiang and Heilongjiang, becoming pillar industries of border and minority economy.
Cleaning, evaporation, and crystallization are key steps of the whole sugar process, and in each step,stable and effective vacuum system is required. Traditional piston pumps are high oil consumption, violent vibration and also several trouble spots. The later water jet pumps are low efficiency, high power and water consumption, and series pollution, what’s more they can not provide stable and efficient vacuum.

EVP pumps are widely used in sugar process of boiling, filtration, evaporation and CO2 gas compression.
Water ring vacuum pumps are suitable for both non-cloth vacuum filter and TGR type cloth vacuum filter, reaching the vacuum degree of higher than -0.08Mpa, and pol of filter mud lower than 6%, this greatly reduces the sugar loss of filter mud and increases recovery.
The key process of evaporation is discharging non-condensing gas, reducing hyperchromic and intensity of sulfitation. Both evaporation tank and cane juice are equipped with ammonia removal pipes to discharge non-condensing gas. The main task of boiling is to concentrate syrup (or molasses) in the boiling tank to a certain supersaturation degree, separate out qualified crystals and puree into fine massecuit. After crystallization and mother liquid removal by centrifuge, fine crystal sugar is obtained.
The most important in this process is to ensure sufficient vacuum degree and stability for boiling and evaporation, and the main factor of stability is hot circulating water. All flow passage components are made in high-quality 304, and adopt several anti-corrosion methods, such as spaying, PTFE painting, and polymer material painting, enhancing anti-corrosion property of the whole pump.
Roots and side stiffener of impeller blades are high-temperature solid welded to improve blades strength, this will effectively prevent impeller crack caused by long operation in high vacuum.
The position of side stiffener is off with end face, which scrapes the foreign bodies between port plate and end face side, to prevent scaling of foreign body between impeller and port plate, and also wear of port plate.
Cavitation protection design inside vacuum pumps which used in evaporation and crystallization process avoids impeller crack due to long-term cavitation.
